Law of Attraction and the Uncontrollable

If you haven't heard of the law of attraction yet, you probably 1. don't own a computer, 2. don't watch YouTube videos, or 3. are severely lacking in understanding about what you can accomplish if you just put your mind to it.

When I first heard of the law of attraction, my cynical mind immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was just another bogus, hippy-dippy fad with no real substance or effectiveness. But MAN let me tell you, it's legit.

It really does sound too good to be true, but when it comes to most things in life, you really do attract the energy you put out. Think of this simple example, which I've experienced firsthand: you're out with friends, and suddenly you start thinking that your behavior might be annoying them. Because of this, you attempt to change your behavior in a way that you think will cease the annoyance your mind is telling you you're creating. However, by changing your behavior to mitigate annoyance you are imagining yourself creating, you're likely acting in an non-genuine manner that will result in increased annoyance on behalf of your friends.

Okay... that was a lot of word vomit to digest.

Sound confusing? Think of a positive example. You're feeling a little unconfident, and you're trying to figure out a means of gaining confidence. However, you quickly realize there is no pill you can take to suddenly turn into a confident queen. But then you remember a statement... "Fake it 'til you make it."

That's right, my dudes. If you start telling yourself you're the sh*t, I promise, you will eventually feel like you ARE the sh*t. I mean, don't go getting a big head, but do tell yourself how amazing you are until you actually feel it's the truth. By telling yourself you already are confident, you're attracting confidence and manifesting it into reality.

Yes, you can think things into reality. I've done it for things as small as gaining 1,000 followers on Instagram to dreams as big as obtaining an offer for my dream job. I simply wrote and spoke about these goals (ex. I have 1,000 Instagram followers) as if they had already happened and... POOF! They did happen.

Of course, manifesting your goals into reality takes more than just sitting in your room chanting, "I am a millionaire" over and over again. You've gotta take some action to reach those goals. But by acting as if you've already reached your goals, you're putting your mind and behaviors in the realm of someone who has accomplished your goals.

On the other hand, it's necessary to touch on the rougher aspect of life: the uncontrollable. Yes, you can attract most of your goals, even the ones that seem distant and unattainable. But remember one major key: the law of attraction dictates your actions and behaviors, not others'.

You can't control who likes you, especially if they have a problem with essential components of your being (ie. your personality). You shouldn't feel the need to alter these aspects of yourself simply to please others; plus, they'll probably realize you're not being genuine anyways.

You can't control other people's decisions. While you can attract your dream job, you can't control the hiring manager's decision to hire or not hire you. While you can manifest 1,000 followers on Instagram (an unimportant goal, but an easy example), you can't control if someone unfollows you.

What I'm getting at is this: do whatever you can to attract the things, people, and ideas you want to manifest into reality. But don't let little bumps along the road (namely, the uncontrollable) deter you from persevering.

Now say it with me: I AM A MILLIONAIRE!
